Lano is a village on the north east coast of Savai'i island in Samoa. The village is part of the electoral constituency (''Faipule District'') Fa'asaleleaga 5 which is within the larger political district (''Itumalo'') of Fa'asaleleaga. The population is 695. The village has white sandy beaches by the main island road and there are beach fale for visitors and tourists and reef breaks for surfing Surfing is a surface water sport in which an individual, a surfer (or two in tandem surfing), uses a board to ride on the forward section, or face, of a moving wave of water, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore.
