Marc Lankhorst
Marc Martijn Lankhorst (born 1968) is a Dutch computer scientist, researcher and consultant, known for his publications on enterprise architecture, and as key developer of ArchiMate, a modelling language for enterprise architecture. Biography Born in Naaldwijk, Lankhorst received his MS in computer science in 1991 at the University of Twente, and his PhD in 1996 at the University of Groningen with a thesis entitled "Genetic algorithms in data analysis" under supervision of Nicolai Petkov. After graduation Lankhorst started his academic career as faculty member at the Department of Mathematics and Computing Science of the University of Groningen. In 1996 he started working at the Telematica Instituut as Member of Scientific Staff, in 2000 he became Manager Application Engineering, in 2006 Expertise Group Leader, and in 2009 Principal Advisor. Peter Lankhorst
Petrus Antonius "Peter" Lankhorst (born 1 January 1947) is a retired Dutch politician of the GreenLeft (GL) party and political consultant. Lankhorst served as a Member of the House of Representatives from 10 June 1981 until 17 May 1994, first as a member of the Political Party of Radicals (PPR) and from 1990 as a member of GreenLeft. He became the Parliamentary leader of GreenLeft in the House of Representatives and the Leader of GreenLeft on 21 April 1993 after the resignation of Ria Beckers. Biography Early life Petrus Antonius Lankhorst was born on 1 January 1947 in Zwolle in the Netherlands Province of Overijssel in a Roman Catholic family. He attended a Protestant-Christian special schools in Meppel and Deventer, and the Roman Catholic Geert Groote College in Deventer. A hamlet is a human settlement that is smaller than a town or village. Its size relative to a Parish (administrative division), parish can depend on the administration and region. A hamlet may be considered to be a smaller settlement or subdivision or satellite entity to a larger settlement. The word and concept of a hamlet has roots in the Anglo-Norman settlement of England, where the old French ' came to apply to small human settlements. Meppel
Meppel (; Drents: ''Möppelt'') is a city and municipality in the Northeastern Netherlands. It constitutes the southwestern part of the province of Drenthe. Meppel is the smallest municipality in Drenthe, with a total area of about 57 km² (22 sq mi). As of 1 July 2021, it had a population of 34,506 with over 30,000 inhabitants within city limits. People born in Meppel are occasionally referred to as ''Meppeler Muggen'' in Dutch; this translates as 'mosquitoes from Meppel'. The nickname comes from a traditional folk tale. The people of Meppel thought the church tower was on fire, but after closer inspection, they realised it was only a swarm of mosquitoes. History Meppel developed in the 16th century as an inland harbour for peat transport and distribution. There used to be a lot of waterways in the town, but now only one remains.
