Lanigan, Saskatchewan
Lanigan (pop. 1300) is a town in south-central Saskatchewan, Canada, at the intersection of TransCanada Yellowhead Highway 16 and Highway 20, approximately 117 km east of Saskatoon and 170 km north of Regina. Lanigan is surrounded by the RM of Usborne No. 310 and is about 2 kilometres west of Lanigan Creek and about 10 km west of Jansen Lake. Quill Lakes are about 34 km to the east along the Yellowhead Highway. Sports and recreation The town of Lanigan has a wide variety of sporting activities and facilities, including a nine-hole grass green golf course, a 25-metre outdoor heated swimming pool, a curling rink with four sheets of ice, ball diamonds, camping, and tennis courts. At the heart of Lanigan is the Lanigan Recreation Complex that features a skating rink, a fully equipped kitchen, a hall, and meeting room facilities. The Age Of Electric
The Age of Electric is a Canadian rock band founded in 1989 with members from Lanigan and Regina, Saskatchewan. The members are Todd Kerns (vocals/guitar), Ryan Dahle (guitar/backing vocals), John Kerns (bass), and Kurt Dahle (drums/backing vocals). History The Age of Electric band was conceived by Todd Kerns and Kurt Dahle circa 1986 and was born in April 1989, after waiting for their two younger brothers, John Kerns and Ryan Dahle, to graduate high school. The Dahle brothers traveled two hours north from their home in Regina, Saskatchewan to the Kerns brothers small home town of Lanigan. The band's commercial breakthrough came with their independent EP ''Ugly'' in 1993, which set the stage for the major label release of their self-titled album in 1995. In 1996, the Dahle brothers released an album with their side project Limblifter, which was also commercially successful in Canada. The band then released ''Make a Pest a Pet'' in 1997. Brian Propp
Brian Phillip Propp (born February 15, 1959) is a Canadian former professional Ice hockey left winger who played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1979 until 1994. Playing career Propp started his career with the Melville Millionaires of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and broke the scoring record with 75 goals and 92 assists for 168 points in 57 games playing on a line with Kelly Dean and Dwaine Turberfield. He then moved on to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, at the same time when the team was one of the most dominating clubs in all of Canadian major junior hockey. Propp was with the team alongside future NHLers such as Brad McCrimmon, Bill Derlago, Laurie Boschman, Dave Semenko, Glen Hanlon, Ray Allison, and Walt Poddubny.
