German Shepherd Dog
The German Shepherd or Alsatian is a German breed of working dog of medium to large size. The breed was developed by Max von Stephanitz using various traditional German herding dogs from 1899. It was originally bred as a herding dog, for herding sheep. It has since been used in many other types of work, including disability assistance, search-and-rescue, police work, and warfare. It is commonly kept as a companion dog, and according to the Fédération Cynologique Internationale had the second-highest number of annual registrations in 2013. The Land Shark (also land shark, landshark, LandShark) was a recurring character from the sketch comedy television series ''Saturday Night Live''. The character first appeared during the show's debut season in the fall of 1975 as a response to the release of the film ''Jaws'' and the subsequent hysteria over purported shark sightings. Fang is an American hardcore punk band from the early East Bay punk rock scene, established in Berkeley, California, in 1980. History The band's first record under the name Fang was an "experimental record", according to the band; this was the "Yukon Fang" single. Fang guitarist Tom Flynn and bass player Brian Beattie, his former bandmate from the bands Tapeworm and Safety Patrol, put out "Yukon Fang" as a duo, and Fang was formed. The original incarnation of Fang toured the country once, only to break up shortly thereafter with Beattie moving on to Texas where he later formed the band Glass Eye.
