Lance Thompson
Lance Thompson (16 February 1978 – 23 August 2018) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He played for St. George, St. George Illawarra and Cronulla-Sutherland. He primarily played in the , though he also played . Background While attending Kingsgrove High School, Thompson was selected to play for the Australian Schoolboys team in 1994 and 1995. He played his junior football with Hurstville United. Professional playing career St. George and St. George Illawarra Thompson made his first grade debut in Round 13, St George against Cronulla at Toyota Park, 24 June 1995 as a 17-year-old. He played for the club until the end of 2006. Thompson played at second-row forward for St. George in the 1996 ARL Grand Final loss to Manly Warringah and for St. George Illawarra Dragons in their 1999 NRL Grand Final loss to the Melbourne Storm. The NSW Cup, currently known as the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a rugby league competition for clubs in New South Wales. The competition has a history dating back to the NSWRFL's origins in 1908, starting off as a reserve grade competition, and is now the premier open age competition in the state. The NSW Cup was the Reserve Grade/Presidents Cup/First Division from 1908 until 2002, and the NSWRL Premier League from 2003 to 2007, the NSW Cup from 2008 to 2015, the Intrust Super Premiership NSW from 2016 to 2018, the Canterbury Cup NSW from 2019 to 2020. Ricky Stuart
Ricky John Stuart (born 7 January 1967) is an Australian professional rugby league football coach who is the head coach of the Canberra Raiders in the NRL and a former rugby league footballer who played as a in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. He was also the head coach of the New South Wales State of Origin team, having replaced Craig Bellamy (rugby league), Craig Bellamy following a fifth consecutive failure in the 2010 State of Origin series, 2010 series.
