Lancashire Women Cricket Team
The Lancashire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Lancashire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Beaconsfield Road, Widnes. They are coached by Chris Chambers and captained by Eleanor Threlkeld. They won both the County Championship and the Twenty20 Cup in 2017. Lancashire have links with Cumbria, with some players playing for both sides, as well as some of their players helping make up a North Representative XI. They are partnered with the regional side North West Thunder. History 1930–1997: Early History Lancashire Women played their first game in 1930, against the Women's Cricket Association, which they won by 111 runs. Eleanor Threlkeld
Eleanor Threlkeld (born 16 November 1998) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Lancashire, North West Thunder and Manchester Originals. She plays as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batter. She previously played for Lancashire Thunder in the Women's Cricket Super League. Early life Threlkeld was born on 16 November 1998 in Knowsley, Merseyside. She attends Loughborough University. Domestic career Threlkeld made her county debut in 2013, for Lancashire against Warwickshire. She scored 3 *, as well as keeping wicket. She became a regular for the side from 2014, but did not score her first half-century for the club until 2019, scoring 72 in a victory over Nottinghamshire in the County Championship. She also achieved her Twenty20 high score that season, hitting 56 * against Sussex. Threlkeld was part of the Lancashire team that won the County Championship and Twenty20 Cup double in 2017. 1998 Women's County Championship
The 1998 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 2nd cricket Women's County Championship season. It took place in July and saw 10 county teams, 3 county Second XIs and 5 regional teams compete in a series of divisions. Yorkshire Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, achieving their second Championship title in two seasons. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship works on a points system with positions within the divisions being based on the total points. Evelyn Jones
Evelyn Jones (born 8 August 1992) is an English cricketer who currently captains Central Sparks, as well as playing for Warwickshire and Birmingham Phoenix. She plays primarily as a left-handed opening batter, as well as bowling left-arm medium. She has previously played for Shropshire, Staffordshire and Lancashire, as well as for Loughborough Lightning and Lancashire Thunder in the Women's Cricket Super League, New Zealand side Canterbury Magicians and Women's Big Bash League team Melbourne Renegades. At the end of the 2021 season, Jones was voted the PCA Player of the Year for her performances that year. Early life Jones was born on 8 August 1992 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Amy Satterthwaite
Amy Ella Satterthwaite (born 7 October 1986) is a New Zealand former cricketer who played as an all-rounder, batting left-handed and bowling either right-arm medium or off break. She appeared in 145 One Day Internationals and 111 Twenty20 Internationals for New Zealand between 2007 and 2022. She played domestic cricket for Canterbury, Tasmania, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Lancashire Thunder, Lancashire and Manchester Originals. Sophie Ecclestone
Sophie Ecclestone (born 6 May 1999) is an English cricketer who plays for Lancashire, North West Thunder, Manchester Originals, Sydney Sixers and England. In December 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named her the Emerging Player of the Year. At the end of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in March 2020, she became the world's number one bowler in Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket. 2016 Women's County Championship
The 2016 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 20th cricket Women's County Championship season. The Championship was won by Kent who recorded their seventh championship, setting a new record for the number of championships won. The runners-up were Sussex. This was the last season in which Division 4 was contested. Following a reorganisation of the structure of the tournament, all the teams in Division 4 were promoted to an expanded Division 3 in 2017. Somerset Women Cricket Team
The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Sophie Luff. Somerset consistently competed in either Division 1 or Division 2 of the Women's County Championship, and won Division 2 of the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2019. In 2021, they won the West Midlands Group of the Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional team Western Storm.
