Lambertus Nicodemus Palar
Lambertus Nicodemus Palar (5 June 1900 – 13 February 1981), also known as Babe Palar, represented the Republic of Indonesia in various diplomatic positions most notably as the first Indonesian representative to the United Nations. He also held ambassadorships in India, West Germany, the Soviet Union, Canada, and the United States. He was the son of Gerrit Palar and Jacoba Lumanauw. Early life and education Palar attended middle school ( nl, Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs (MULO)) in Tondano. Lambert of Maastricht, commonly referred to as Saint Lambert ( la, Lambertus; Middle Dutch: ''Sint-Lambrecht''; li, Lambaer, Baer, Bert(us); 636 – c. 705 AD) was the bishop of Maastricht-Liège (Tongeren) from about 670 until his death. Lambert denounced Pepin's liaison with his mistress Alpaida, the mother of Charles Martel. The bishop was murdered during the political turmoil that developed when various families fought for influence as the Merovingian dynasty gave way to the Carolingians. He is considered a martyr for his defence of marriage. His feast day is September 17. Life Very little is known about the life of Lambert. Lambertus Nienhuis
Lambertus (Bert) Nienhuis (14 November 1873 in Groningen – 1960 in Amsterdam) was a Dutch ceramist, designer and jewelry designer. Life and work Nienhuis was born in Groningen as the son of the broker Lambertus Nienhuis (1834–1890) and Alberdina Good House (1835–1875). He was educated at the Minerva Academy in his hometown and then at the State School of Applied Arts in Amsterdam (Rijksschool voor Kunstnijverheid Amsterdam). In 1895 he worked for the stoneware factories De Distel in Amsterdam. A year later he founded Lotus Tile Bakery in Watergraafsmeer. His company was taken over in 1901 by De Distel, and Nienhuis became in charge of the decorative department. His invention of a matte glaze was quickly adopted by other factories. Lambertus De Monte
Lambertus de Monte, also Lambertus de Monte Domini or Lambert of Cologne ( nl, Lambertus van 's-Heerenbergh; c. 1430/5–1499), was a medieval scholastic and Thomist. Originally from 's-Heerenberg (Monte Domini), he went to the University of Cologne in 1450, where he was taught by his uncle Gerhardus de Monte, and received his Master of Arts in 1454, holding an arts professorship there from 1455 until 1473, when he became a doctor of theology. He then taught in the faculty of theology until his death. He wrote several Thomist commentaries on Aristotle, including the ''Physics'', ''De anima'', and the '' logica nova'', most of which were printed in Cologne during his lifetime or shortly thereafter. Lambertus Bos
Lambert Bos (23 October 1670 – 6 January 1717) (or Lambertus Bos or Lammert Bos) was a Dutch scholar, critic and forerunner of Tiberius Hemsterhuis. Lambert Bos was born at Workum in Friesland, where his father, Jakob Bos, was headmaster of the school. His mother was Gerarda de Haan. He was baptised in the reformed church in Workum on 25 November 1670. He went to the University of Franeker (suppressed by Napoleon in 1811), and was appointed lector in 1697 and professor of Greek in 1704. On 28 February 1712 he married Feiktje Doeckes Sineda, the widow of the priest Gerradus Horreus, and earlier the widow of Dominic Camper. after an uneventful life he died at Franeker in 1717. His most famous work, ''Ellipses Graecae'' (1702), was translated into English by John Seager (1830); and his ''Antiquitates Graecae'' (1714) passed through several editions. Coert or Court Lambertus van Beyma ( Harlingen, 5 February 1753 - Dronrijp, 7 September 1820), son of Julius Matthijs van Beyma and Fokel Helena van Burmania, was a public notary and auctioneer, delegate and representative of the Frisian States, and the radical leader of the Frisian patriots. He was the initiator of a Frisian coup and spent seven years in exile in north-western France. On his return to the Netherlands in 1795, he became a delegate to the National Assembly of the newly established Batavian Republic. Lambertus "Bep" van Klaveren (26 September 1907 – 12 February 1992) was a Dutch boxer, who won the gold medal in the featherweight division at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam.
