Lambert Packard
Lambert Packard (1832-1906) was an American architect from St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Life and career He was born in 1832 Coventry, Vermont, to Jefferson Packard. The family moved to Waterford in 1847, where Packard learned the carpenter's trade. At age 15 he left home, working for engineers and architects in Lowell and Lawrence, Massachusetts. Coventry, Vermont
Coventry is a town in Orleans County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,100 at the 2020 census. History Etymology Coventry was named for the birthplace of one of the founders, Major Elias Buel, who was born in Coventry, Connecticut. Post bellum A record exists from 1860, showing that the "Artillery Company" of the 3rd Regiment mustered for annual drill on June 5. An inventory shows they possessed one six pound brass cannon. Newport is a city and the county seat of Orleans County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 4,455. The city contains the second-largest population of any municipality in the county (only neighboring Derby is larger), and has the smallest geographic area. West View Farm
The West View Farm is a historic farm property on Hastings Road (Town Highway 34) in Waterford, Vermont. The farm is unique for its distinctive round barn, built in 1903 to a design by St. Johnsbury architect Lambert Packard, and surviving 19th-century corn crib and smokehouse. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. It includes a round barn. Barnet contains the locations of Barnet Center, East Barnet, McIndoe Falls, Mosquitoville, Passumpsic and West Barnet. Hardwick is a town in Caledonia County, Vermont, United States. The population was 2,920 at the 2020 census. It contains the unincorporated villages of Hardwick, East Hardwick, and Mackville. Darling Inn
The Darling Inn is a historic former hotel building in the center of Lyndonville, Vermont. Built in 1927–28, it is a rare example in the state of an architecturally neo-Federal building, and one of the last major constructions during the state's Colonial Revival period. Now converted to a senior care facility, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Lyndonville is a village in the town of Lyndon, in Caledonia County, Vermont, United States. Lyndonville's population was 1,136 at the 2020 census. It is the closest community to the Lyndon campus of Northern Vermont University. History In 1883, trustees purchased a hand fire engine from Franklin, New Hampshire, to start a fire fighting company. The former Spaulding School Building is a historic structure that has overlooked the city of Barre, Vermont, United States, since 1891. It now houses the Vermont History Center, the home of the Vermont Historical Society. The building The building was designed by Vermont architect and builder Lambert Packard (1832–1906).
