''Lambert Feels Threatened'' (German: ''Lambert fühlt sich bedroht'') is a 1949 Austrian mystery crime film directed by Géza von Cziffra and starring Hannelore Schroth, Curd Jürgens and Leopold Rudolf. The film was one of only a handful of crime films produced in the post-war era, with similarities to American and British film noirs.Fritsche p.85 It was shot at the Schönbrunn Studios in Vienna and on location around Pörtschach am Wörthersee. The film's sets were designed by the art director Fritz Jüptner-Jonstorff. It was given a West German release in September 1951. Synopsis Lambert a reclusive man lives in isolated house in an island in the middle of a lake. He is obsessed with the idea that somebody wants to kill him and appeals for police protection. Inspector Roland takes over the case and arrives on the fog-bound island, and soon encounters strange happenings and the death of the local doctor. Géza Von Cziffra
Géza von Cziffra (; 19 December 1900 – 28 April 1989) was a Hungarian and Austrian film director and screenwriter. Life Cziffra was a Banat German in origin, born in 1900 in Arad in the Banat region, at that date in the Kingdom of Hungary, now in Romania. Cziffra made films from the 1930s onwards, at first in Hungary, and from 1936 in Germany as well, where he was initially more active as a screenwriter. In 1945, in Prague, then occupied by the Germans, he made the film ''Leuchtende Schatten'' ("Glowing Shadows"). As adviser for the criminal police, he was assigned SS-Sturmbannführer Eweler, a member of the SD and brother of the actress Ruth Eweler. After some time, Cziffra banned Eweler from the studios for excessive and obstructive criticism. Shortly afterwards, he was arrested and taken to the Prague Gestapo Headquarters in the Pecec Palace, where he was accused of having eaten several times in the Czech restaurant "Neumann" without using ration stamps. Erni Mangold (sometimes ''Ernie'' or ''Erna;'' born as Erna Goldmann on 25 January 1927) is an Austrian actress and stage director. Since 1948, she had appeared in more than 75 films and TV productions. Life Goldmann was born into a family of artists. The father was a painter, whilst her mother, who was likely to become a successful concert pianist, resigned to her career in favour of her family. She had piano lessons from age 4 to 14 years. Paul Kemp (actor)
Paul Kemp (20 May 1896 – 13 August 1953) was a German stage and film actor. Kemp worked as a piano accompaniest for silent films, and then served as an ambulance driver on the Western Front during the First World War. Post-war he moved into acting on the stage in Düsseldorf and Hamburg. His career really took off when he moved to Berlin in 1929, appearing in the hit stage version of the novel ''Menschen im Hotel'' by Vicki Baum. He made his film debut in 1930, shortly after the introduction of sound film. He appeared prolifically in German and Austrian films until his death in 1953.
