Lalian Tehsil
Lalian Tehsil ( ur, ) is a tehsil of the Chiniot District and a city in Punjab, Pakistan. It is located on Sargodha road, 22 km from Chiniot. It became a tehsil of Chiniot District on 2 February 2009. Prior to this, it was a known as town in the Chiniot Tehsil and now with the addition of 12 more union councils it has become a Tehsil with a large amount of population in towns and villages. Demography The major language of this sub-district is the Punjabi language. Notable people Notably, Lalian is the birthplace of Khawar Mahmood, father of Canadian businessman Badar Mahmood. Dialling Codes In Pakistan
Fixed telephony The area codes in Pakistan consists of two to five digits; generally smaller the city, longer the prefix. All large cities have two-digit codes. The smaller towns might have six digital whereas big cities have seven digit numbers. Azad Kashmir telephone lines contain five digits. On 1 July 2009, telephone numbers in Karachi and Lahore were changed from seven digits to eight digits. This was accomplished by adding 9 to the beginning of all phone numbers that started with a 9 i.e. government and semi-government lines and adding 3 to all other lines. Bhawana City
Bhawana (also spelled as Bhowana) ( pa, , ur, ) is a city and capital of Bhawana Tehsil of Chiniot District in Punjab, Pakistan. It is located on the bank of the Chenab river, bounded by Faisalabad, Jhang, and Chiniot, three other cities in Punjab. History Bhawana is one of the ancient cities of Pakistan. The Mughal Emperor Zahir-ud-din Babur mentions the area in his book the ''Tuzk-e-Babari'' for its fine architecture and finely handcrafted jharoka windows of many of the old ''havelis'' (manors) and other buildings of the old/medieval town. Lalian ( pa, لالیاں) is a city in the Chiniot District of Punjab province, in Pakistan. It is located at 31°49'21N 72°47'50E with an altitude of 171 metres (564 feet) and is situated on the Faisalabad-to-Sargodha road. According to the census of 1998, Lalian holds total population of 90,000. The total number of households was 4436. Sargodha ( Punjabi and ur, ) is a city and capital of Sargodha Division, located in Punjab province, Pakistan. It is Pakistan's 12th largest city by population and one of the fastest-growing cities of the country. Sargodha is also known as the ''City of Eagles''. It is one of the few planned cities of Pakistan (others include Faisalabad, Islamabad & Gwadar). Chiniot District ( Punjabi and ur, ), became the 36th district of the Punjab province of Pakistan in February 2009. Before this, it was a tehsil of Jhang District. History Chiniot region was an agricultural region with forests during the Indus Valley civilization. The Vedic period is characterized by Indo-Aryan culture that migrated from Central Asia and settled in Punjab region. Postal codes in Pakistan were introduced on 1 January 1988 to speed sortation and delivery. These codes are for the delivery post office in whose jurisdiction the residential, office, industrial, rural, or PO Box address falls.
