Lal (La'l), United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency ( prs, لعل) sometimes called Lal wa Sarjangal () is a town and the administrative center of Lal wa Sarjangal District, Ghor Province, Afghanistan. Demographics Lal is one of the most populated areas in Ghor province. The people in this area are the Hazara people. Geography Lal wa Sarjangal is located within the Hazarajat region in the central highlands of Afghanistan, among the Koh-i Baba mountains and the western extremities of the Hindu Kush. Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) is an aqueous extract of blood cells (amoebocytes) from the Atlantic horseshoe crab ''Limulus polyphemus''. LAL reacts with bacterial endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS), which is a membrane component of gram-negative bacteria. This reaction is the basis of the LAL test, which is widely used for the detection and quantification of bacterial endotoxins. In Asia, a similar Tachypleus amebocyte lysate (TAL) test based on the local horseshoe crabs ''Tachypleus gigas'' or ''Tachypleus tridentatus'' is occasionally used instead. The recombinant factor C (rFC) assay is a replacement of LAL/TAL based on a similar reaction. Lal Lal is a town in Victoria (Australia), Australia. The town is located in the Shire of Moorabool and on the Geelong-Ballarat railway line, west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the , Lal Lal and the surrounding area had a population of 476. Lal Lal Falls and the Lal Lal Reservoir on the Moorabool River are to the north-east and east of the town.
