A lake is an area filled with water, localized in a basin, surrounded by land, and distinct from any river or other outlet that serves to feed or drain the lake. Tei, Bucharest
Tei is a neighborhood in Bucharest, Romania - Sector 2. The name comes from the name of a lake in this area: Lacul Tei (Tilia, Linden Tree Lake). The name of the lake comes from the linden woods that existed around it in the past. At the beginning of the 19th century, the area belonged to the Ghica family, who built the Orthodox Teiul Doamnei Ghica Church (1833) and, in 1822 the Ghica Tei palace (Palatul Ghica). Around 1900, the area south of the "Calea Lacul Teiului" (today "Bulevardul Lacul Tei") had been sold to Bulgarians of Romania, Bulgarian gardeners (called "sârbi"). After the First World War, on the grounds located north and southeast of the "Calea Lacul Teiului", houses were built. During the Nicolae Ceauşescu era, many apartment buildings, as well as the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest and the State Circus were built. ''Tilia'' is a genus of about 30 species of trees or bushes, native throughout most of the temperateness, temperate Northern Hemisphere. The tree is known as linden for the European species, and basswood for North American species. Tineretului Park
''Tineretului'' Park (, "Youth's Park") is a large public park in southern Bucharest ( Sector 4). History The park, which was created in 1965 and finished in 1974, was planned by the architect Valentin Donose. It was designed as the main recreational space for southern Bucharest, an area which was heavily developed during the 1960s and 1970s. It has a surface area of and attracts an average of 7,800 visitors on a weekend day. Landmarks Aside from green areas, the park contains a number of playgrounds as well as a navigable lake, utilised by leisure boats in summer. Tineretului Park contains the Sala Polivalentă, one of Bucharest's largest multi-purpose halls, used for concerts and indoor sporting events. The south-east corner of the park is a children's area called "Orăşelul Copiilor" ("Children's Mini-town"). Pantelimon, Bucharest
Pantelimon is a neighbourhood located in north-eastern Bucharest, Romania, in Sector 2. Outside Bucharest, there is an adjacent town named Pantelimon, administered separately. The Pantelimon district is named after Saint Pantaleon (Pantelimon in Romanian), and hosts Arena Națională, the largest football stadium in Romania. Pantelimon Avenue is the backbone of the district. A Cora hypermarket is situated in this neighbourhood. Several car showrooms (Renault & Dacia, Peugeot, Skoda, Fiat) have been built in the east side of the district. The area was a small houses neighborhood until systematisation started in 1971.
