Lakes High School
Lakes High School is located in Lakewood, Washington. It serves students from 9th grade to 12th grade. It is one of the two major high schools in the Clover Park School District. Daffodil Festival Every year, Lakes participates in the Pierce County Daffodil Festival. A competition is held in house to select the Lakes Princess, who goes on to compete against other regional schools, for the Daffodil Festival Queen title. The Queen title is considered the highest honor of the regional festival. The Lakes Band accompanies the float through various towns and 4 stops throughout areas such as Tacoma in Western Washington. The Lakes Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps also attends as well, showing up in a similar way in Uniform. Football The Lakes football team has had several championship-level seasons. Clover Park School District
The Clover Park School District (CPSD) is the fourth largest school district in Pierce County, Washington, United States, and the 28th largest public school district in the state. Location The Clover Park School District is located directly south of Tacoma, Washington in the city of Lakewood. The district includes within the western area of Pierce County. Rick Austin (baseball)
Rick Gerald Austin (born October 27, 1946) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher. He pitched parts of four seasons between and . Austin attended Washington State University, where he played college baseball for the Cougars in 1967 and 1968. In a game against Gonzaga University on March 22, 1968, he pitched a perfect game. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the first round of the secondary phase of the 1968 Major League Baseball Draft, and began his professional career with the AA Waterbury Indians. In 1968, Austin had a 1–8 win-loss record and a 2.73 earned run average (ERA), and in 1969 he split the season between Waterbury, the Indians' rookie team, and the Portland Beavers. With Portland, he had a 5–6 record and a 3.66 ERA in 16 games. After the season, he, along with Rich Hand, were noted as two of the Indians' top pitching prospects. Drew Miller (quarterback)
Drew Miller (born March 14, 1978) is a former American football quarterback who played one season with the Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League (AFL). He first enrolled at Brigham Young University before transferring to the University of Montana. Early years Miller played high school football and baseball at Lakes High School in Lakewood, Washington. He started three seasons at quarterback while also playing the role of kicker and punter. As a senior, he threw for 3,366 yards with 42 touchdowns, while earning the Player of the Year award. He recorded career totals of 9,003 passing yards and 103 touchdowns. Jermaine Levan Kearse (born February 6, 1990) is a former American football wide receiver. He played eight seasons in National Football League (NFL). Georgann Hawkins (August 20, 1955 – disappeared June 11, 1974) was an American college student from Tacoma, Washington, who disappeared from an alley behind her sorority house at the University of Washington in Seattle. Serial killer Ted Bundy confessed to Hawkins' abduction and murder shortly before his 1989 execution. Bundy claimed that partial skeletal remains belonging to Hawkins were recovered from one of his many crime scenes on September 6, 1974. According to Bundy, the sections of Hawkins' body he had not buried were recovered in Issaquah alongside the bodies of two other victims he had murdered on July 14. Bundy's statement regarding the identity of the partial skeletal remains being those of Georgann Hawkins has never been confirmed. Donald Glaude is an American house music artist, DJ and remixer, and is consistently ranked as one of ''DJ Mag''s top 100 DJs. Biography As a child, Glaude was classically trained in the upright bass and violin. After hearing early funk records as a child, he began experimenting with tape decks and a primitive Radio Shack mixer at home in Tacoma, Washington.
