Paul Lakeland is the Rev. Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J., Professor of Catholic Studies and Chair of the Center for Catholic Studies at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut and was the 2005 Fairfield University Teacher of the Year. Lakeland was awarded the first place 2004 Catholic Press Award, in the category of theology, for his book, ''The Liberation of the Laity: In Search of an Accountable Church'' (Continuum International, New York, N.Y., 2003). Part of the community was annexed into neighboring Auburn in 2008. Geography Lakeland North is located in southwestern King County at (47.332822, -122.276997). Ronkonkoma ( ) is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) on Long Island in the Town of Islip, New York, United States. Its population was 19,082 at the 2010 census. Lakeland is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Onondaga County, New York, United States. The population was 2,786 at the 2010 census. The community name is derived from its location next to Onondaga Lake. The community is in the northwest part of the town of Geddes. History From the latter part of the nineteenth century through the early years of the twentieth century, Lakeland was home to several upscale hotels and a small amusement park along the shores of Onondaga Lake. These were served by a trolley car line from Syracuse. However, the resort area began to decline before World War I and was gone by the Great Depression.
