Lake Ruhondo
Lake Ruhondo is a lake of northwestern Rwanda. It is located near Lake Bulera on the outskirts of Musanze. It is located at the base of Rwanda's largest volcano, the Kalisimbi Volcanic mountain. Lake Ruhondo and is one of two lakes formed out of volcanic activity from Sabyinyo Volcanic mountain which caused outpouring of lava across a river valley that solidified and cooled. Lake Ruhondo is separated from Lake Burera by a 1 km land mass. Both lakes Ruhondo and Burera are located in the Northern part of Rwanda and very close to Uganda on Rwanda's northern region. Musanze District
Musanze is a district in the Northern Province of Rwanda. Its capital city is Ruhengeri. Geography and tourism Musanze is Rwanda's most mountainous district, containing the largest part of the Volcanoes National Park, and its head office at Kinigi. Natural Freshwater Lake

Rwanda

Islands

Lake Bulera
Lake Burera or Bulera is a lake of northwestern Rwanda, at the border with Uganda. With an area pf , it is the second largest lake entirely in Rwanda after Lake Ihema (). Considering all other lakes in the country (including lakes shared with other countries), it would be the 5th largest after Lake Kivu between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lake Rweru between Rwanda and Burundi at of which only are in Rwanda, Lake Ihema and Lake Cohoha also shared with Burundi of which only are in Rwanda. The lake is located in a densely populated North of the country in Burera District which got its name from this lake. The closet major city is the city of Musanze West of the lake. Sabyinyo
Mount Sabyinyo ("Sabyinyo" is derived from the Kinyarwanda word "Iryinyo", meaning "tooth"; also "Sabyinyo, Sabyinio") is an extinct volcano in eastern Africa in the Virunga Mountains. Mount Sabyinyo is the oldest volcano of the range. It is north-east of Lake Kivu, one of the African Great Lakes, and west of Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda. The summit of the mountain, at , marks the intersection of the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Uganda, and holds religious significance to local tribes. Burera
Burera is a district (''Akarere'') in Northern Province, Rwanda. Its capital is Cyeru. Geography and tourism The district lies in the northern part of Rwanda, adjacent to the Ugandan border, and between the cities of Ruhengeri and Byumba.
