Lahore High Court Bar Association
The Lahore High Court Bar Association ( ur, ) is situated in Lahore. Lahore Bar (presently Lahore High Court Bar) as a collective group took birth somewhere before 1892-93 and its first President was elected in 1893. In 1910 the Executive Committee recommended that the Bar Association should be registered accordingly. The General House on 9 June 1910, accepted the recommendations and registered it as Bar Association. History The earliest trace of the Lahore High Court Bar as a body to be acknowledged and accepted starts from 1882. In October, 1882, the judges of the Chief Court passed a resolution requesting Mr. C. H. Spitta, Barrister-at-Law (then a leading member of the legal fraternity and later to become a temporary judge of the Chief Court) to convene a Special Meeting of the Bar, to devise measures to root out touting. Punjab Bar Council
The Punjab Bar Council ( ur, ) is a deliberative assembly of lawyers in Punjab. It is established by Parliament of Pakistan and consists of 75 members elected from different constituencies of Punjab. Its main functions are to promote and suggest law reforms, to safeguard the rights, interests and privileges of practicing lawyers while regulating their conduct, to recognize or derecognize Bar associations and to help in the administration of justice. Punjab Bar Council also sends one of its Member to Judicial Commission of Pakistan, who gives advice and vote for the appointment of Lahore High Court Judges. The council is the largest Provincial Bar Council in Pakistan with more than 100,000 advocates as its License holders. Islamabad Bar Council
The Islamabad Bar Council is a statutory & deliberative assembly of lawyers in Islamabad Capital Territory for safeguarding the rights, interests and privileges of practicing lawyers, within Islamabad Capital Territory of Pakistan. The Council also regulates the conduct of lawyers and helps in the administration of justice. It has been constituted in 2014 after addition of Section 3(1)(iii) into the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973 and became functional on 23 May 2015 after its first election. The Supreme Court Bar Association ( ur, )(SCBAP) is an association established in 1989 comprising the supreme court lawyers in Pakistan. The Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act 1973 provides for the forming, recognition and functioning of Bar Associations for supreme court lawyers working under the control of Pakistan Bar Council.
