Laguna Park, Texas
Laguna Park is an Unincorporated area, unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Bosque County, Texas, Bosque County in Central Texas, central Texas, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, it had a population of 1,276. Laguna Park is located along Texas State Highway 22, State Highway 22 in southeastern Bosque County, approximately northwest of Waco, Texas, Waco. The community is situated at the southern end of Lake Whitney (Texas), Lake Whitney, near the dam. Following the completion of Whitney Dam in the early 1950s, Laguna Park became a recreation destination. Small stores and a post office opened to serve the surrounding agricultural area as well as visitors to Lake Whitney. The population stood at just under 500 during the mid-1970s, but slowly grew to approximately 550 by 2000. Bosque County, Texas
Bosque County ( ) is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, the population was 18,235. Its county seat is Meridian, while Clifton is the largest city and the cultural/financial center of the county. The county is named for the Bosque River, which runs through the center of the county north to south. The Brazos River makes up the eastern border along with the Lake Whitney reservoir it feeds. The United States census of 2010 was the twenty-third United States national census. National Census Day, the reference day used for the census, was April 1, 2010. Lake Whitney is a flood control reservoir on the main stem of the Brazos River in Texas. It is located on River Mile Marker 442 and controls drainage for of Texas and parts of New Mexico.
