Lagaf'
Vincent Rouil (; born 30 October 1959 in Mont-Saint-Aignan), better known as Vincent Lagaf' (), is a French humorist, TV presenter, singer and actor. Biography In 1987, Vincent Lagaf', who had just arrived in Paris, came to national attention as a comedian when he appeared on the TV show (''La Classe'') aimed at discovering young comedians. With his first one-man show, Lagaf' became popular thanks to the song " Bo le lavabo", which was a success in France in 1990. A year later, he had a similar success with " La Zoubida" which was in the list of the 100 best-selling singles in France during the 1990s. (A side-scrolling platform game developed by Titus Interactive based on this song was also produced, later altered and released as Titus the Fox in other markets.) Until 1995, working with the producer Hervé Hubert, he continued to act in many sketches on stage or for television and to interpret new funny songs like ''Casse toi'' and ''Sweet Georgia Brown''. In 1995, he played the ...

Bo Le Lavabo
"Bo le lavabo (WC Kiss)" is a 1990 novelty song recorded by the French TV presenter and humorist Lagaf'. It was his debut single and achieved success in France. Background and writing In one of his sketches, French humorist Vincent Lagaf' (Vincent Rouil), who featured on several TV programs in the 1980s and 1990s, commented on how easy it was to produce a hit single during the house period, as the repetitive music distracts the audience from the words, reduced to a bare and trivial content. As the sketch had a great success, he decided to released it as an unpretentious but ironic single, built with deliberately very poor lyrics: in the song, Lagaf' explains that, to produce a hit every year, it is enough to barely change the words: the first year, he can sing "il est beau le lavabo" ("the sink is beautiful"), the second year, "il est laid le bidet" ("the bidet is ugly"), and the third year, he mixes both versions. The music uses a sample recorded by Lil Louis from his song "Frenc ...

La Zoubida
"La Zoubida" () is a 1991 novelty song recorded by the French TV presenter and humorist Vincent Lagaf'. In May 1991, it was the second single from his album ''Le Lavabo''. It became the summer hit of 1991, staying at the top of the French Singles Chart for three months. The song formed the basis for a side-scrolling platform game, ''Lagaf': Les Aventures de Moktar — Vol 1: La Zoubida'', developed by Titus Interactive; the game would later be altered and released as ''Titus the Fox'' internationally. Lyrics and music In a humorous style, "La Zoubida" tells the story of a young North African girl called Zoubida, who lives in Barbès, whose parents have forbidden her to go dancing. The girl is saved by her friend Moktar, but, as he is a robber of "golden" scooters, the two end the night at the police station. These dubious clichés have earned the song some criticism. As for the music, the melody is repetitive and every sentence is echoed in the vocals. The music is taken from the ...

Let's Make A Deal
''Let's Make a Deal'' (also known as ''LMAD'') is an American television musical comedy variety-game show that originated in the United States in 1963 and has since been produced in many countries throughout the world. The program was created and produced by Stefan Hatos and Monty Hall, the latter serving as its host for nearly 30 years. The format of ''Let's Make a Deal'' involves selected members of the studio audience, referred to as "traders", making deals with the host. In most cases, a trader will be offered something of value and given a choice of whether to keep it or exchange it for a different item. The program's defining game mechanism is that the other item is hidden from the trader until that choice is made. The trader thus does not know if they are getting something of equal or greater value or a prize that is referred to as a "zonk," an item purposely chosen to be of little or no value to the trader. ''Let's Make a Deal'' is also known for audience members who dre ...

7 D'or
The ''7 d'Or'' or ''Sept d'Or'' ( French for "Seven of Gold" or "Golden Seven") was a French television production award (similar in nature to the Emmy Awards), presented by '' Télé 7 Jours'' (a weekly French magazine with listings of TV shows). The awards were presented in the fall of each year from 1985 to 2003 (no awards were presented in 1992, 1998 and 2002) during a televised "Night of the 7 d'Or" awards ceremony (1988 and 2003 were not televised). The first ceremonies took place in Le Lido in Paris. Since 2003, several attempts have been made to bring back the "7 d'Or" awards. In 2005, some sources announced a possible return of the awards, produced by Endemol; in 2008, a second return was mentioned on Direct 8, but this project didn't come to fruition; in late November 2011, the editor in chief of ''Télé 7 Jours'' announced that negotiations were taking place with France Télévisions to try to bring back the ceremonies in 2012.
