The Lafayette Roughnecks was arena football team based in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Roughnecks were members of the South Central Division of the National Conference of af2. They played their home games at the Cajundome (also the basketball home for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns). They only played for one season (3-13 record) before ceasing all operations after the season ended. Cajundome
The Cajundome is a 13,500-seat multi-purpose arena located in Lafayette, Louisiana on the South Campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. It is home to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's and women's basketball programs in addition to hosting various University events and commencement ceremonies including high school graduations. The arena hosts many regional concerts (seating for concerts 8,481 to 13,500) and special events, such as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) events and the annual outdoor Cajun Heartland State Fair, an eleven-day state fair that attracts over 175,000. The arena also hosts the annual Jr. Beta Club Louisiana state conventions for middle and elementary school students and previously held the Sr. Beta Conventions for high schoolers. Lafayette (, ) is a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana, and the most populous city and parish seat of Lafayette Parish, located along the Vermilion River. Dave Whinham
Dave Whinham (born January 2, 1957) is a sports and entertainment executive, filmmaker, and former American football coach and team executive. Whinham formed in 2002 and has since served as president of a consulting and production company now known as The TEAM Productions. Based in Columbus, OH, The TEAM focuses its efforts in four areas: (1) brokering of sports and entertainment opportunities and entities, (2) providing comprehensive consulting services to the sports and entertainment industry, (3) producing live sports and entertainment events, and (4) creating, producing, and placing media elements. Whinham resides in Columbus and is a native of Detroit. Buford Jordan
Paul Buford Jordan (born June 26, 1962) is a former professional American football running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the New Orleans Saints. Biography A four-time all-Southland Conference selection, Jordan left McNeese State in 1983 as the all-time leading rusher in Louisiana history. He joined the New Orleans Breakers of the USFL and was their leading rusher in 1984 with 1276 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. He also played in the USFL for the Portland Breakers. After the USFL folded in 1985, Jordan joined coach Jim Mora's Saints and started 9 games, playing mostly as a blocker for Dalton Hilliard and Reuben Mayes and as a special teams performer. In a 1987 comeback against Cincinnati, he scored two touchdowns.
