Lady Ice (horse)
''Lady Ice'' is a 1973 American crime film directed by Tom Gries, and starring Donald Sutherland, Jennifer O'Neill and Robert Duvall. The story concerns an insurance investigator who becomes involved with a wealthy young woman he suspects of fencing stolen jewelry. Plot In a Miami hotel room, insurance agent Andy Hammon (Sutherland) surprises Tony Lacava, a jewelry fence, at gunpoint and retrieves a diamond necklace that Lacava had concealed under his clothes. While working at a garage Hammon encounters Paula Booth (O'Neill), a wealthy young woman who leaves her car to be repaired. He makes a lewd comment toward Paula and is summoned to see the garage owner, Booth's father, who fires him. Hammon steals Paula's car and she pursues him until she loses him at a draw bridge. Tom Gries
Tom Gries (December 20, 1922 – January 3, 1977) was an American TV and film director, writer, and film producer. Life and career Gries was born in Chicago, Illinois. His mother, Ruth, later remarried to jazz musician Muggsy Spanier, who became stepfather to Ruth's sons. Educated at the Loyola Academy and Georgetown University. Gries began working in TV in the 1950s as a writer and director. His work can be seen on such popular programs as ''Bronco'', '' Wanted: Dead or Alive'', '' The Westerner'', ''The Rifleman'', ''Checkmate,'' ''Cain's Hundred,'' ''East Side/West Side'', ''Route 66'', '' Stoney Burke,'' ''Combat!,'' ''The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'', ''Honey West'', ''I Spy'', '' Mission: Impossible'', and ''Batman'' among many others. Leonard Michael Maltin (born December 18, 1950) is an American film critic and film historian, as well as an author of several mainstream books on cinema, focusing on nostalgic, celebratory narratives. He is perhaps best known for his book of film capsule reviews, ''Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide'', published annually from 1969 to 2014. Early life Maltin was born in New York City, the son of singer Jacqueline ( née Gould; 1923–2012) and Aaron Isaac Maltin (1915–2002), a lawyer and immigration judge. Maltin was raised in a Jewish family in Teaneck, New Jersey. He graduated from Teaneck High School in 1968.
