The word ''lady'' is a term for a girl or woman, with various connotations. Once used to describe only women of a high social class or status, the equivalent of lord, now it may refer to any adult woman, as gentleman can be used for men. Informal use is sometimes euphemistic ("lady of the night" for Prostitution, prostitute) or, in Regional vocabularies of American English, American slang, condescending in direct address (equivalent to "mister" or "man"). "Lady" is also a formal British aristocracy, title in the United Kingdom. ''Powerful People'' is the second studio album of Canadian singer Gino Vannelli. The album was released in 1974, and was produced by Gino and his brother Joe Vannelli. Herb Alpert (who produced Vannelli's first album) is credited as associate producer. After his debut ''Crazy Life'' had failed to chart due to poor record company promotion, Vannelli assembled a band to record his second album. He and brother Joe had played all the instruments on ''Crazy Life,'' but ''Powerful People'' is characterized by Joe Vannelli's first experiments with synthesizers and the use of session musicians. The funky " People Gotta Move" was Vannelli's first hit in the United States, when disco music was gaining popularity. The song reached #22 on Billboard Hot 100 and #21 in Canada. ''Good Things Happening'' is the first album released by the new lineup of pop group Brotherhood of Man. This lineup consisted of Martin Lee, Lee Sheriden, Nicky Stevens and Sandra Stevens and was to be the main lineup of the group's history and would hold for the next ten albums. It contains their first europeen hit "Lady" which was a hit in Belgium and the Netherlands. Background This album was released in September 1974 on the Dawn label. It featured the singles "When Love Catches Up on You", "Lady", "Lady Lady Lady Lay" and "Spring of 1912". None of these found success in the UK, although the single "Lady" was a hit in the Netherlands and Belgium. During recording sessions for the album in August 1974, member Lee Sheriden came up with a song called "Save Your Kisses for Me". The others disliked the title and reworked it into "Oceans of Love".
