''Ladies Invited'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band The J. Geils Band. The album was released in November 1973, by Atlantic Records. The model for the cover artwork, illustrated by the noted fashion artist Antonio, was reportedly actress Faye Dunaway, who married lead singer Peter Wolf the following year. ''Record World'' said of the single "Did You No Wrong" that "Geils takes off on some incredible guitar riffs and production from Szymczyk does no wrong." Danny Klein
Daniel Klein (born May 23, 1946) is an American bassist best known as a member of The J. Geils Band. Early life Daniel Klein was born on May 23, 1946, in the Bronx, New York City. He moved to New Jersey at age 6 and in 1964 he began attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts studying mechanical engineering. It was there that he met musicians John Geils and Richard Salwitz. By 1966 Klein left WPI to pursue a career in music. Musical career While attending college Klein formed a jug band with Salwitz and Geils. When Peter Wolf, Seth Justman and Stephen Jo Bladd joined they changed their name to The J. Geils Band of which Klein remained a member until their breakup in 1985. Throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s Klein recorded with artists such as Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and Debbie Davies. Seth Justman
Seth Justman (born January 27, 1951) is the keyboard player for the U.S. rock band, The J. Geils Band. Biography Justman was born in Washington, D.C., grew up in Atlantic City, and is Jewish. He co-wrote many of the band's songs with singer Peter Wolf, and took sole songwriting credits for the band's biggest international hit, "Centerfold" (number 1 for six weeks on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100). Seth is the brother of Paul Justman, director of the 2002 movie, ''Standing in the Shadows of Motown''. Paul and Seth shared songwriting credits for most of the songs on the band's final album, ''You're Gettin' Even While I'm Gettin' Odd''. Justman also became the band's main vocalist following Wolf's departure until the band's first break-up in 1985. ''Record World'' magazine was one of the three main music industry trade magazines in the United States, along with '' Billboard'' and '' Cashbox''. It was founded in 1946 under the name ''Music Vendor'', but in 1964 it was changed to ''Record World'', under the ownership of Sid Parnes and Bob Austin. It ceased publication on April 10, 1982. Peter Wolf (born March 7, 1946) is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist of the J. Geils Band from 1967 to 1983 and as a solo artist. Early life and education Peter Wolf was born Peter Walter Blankfield on March 7, 1946 in The Bronx, New York City, New York, New York (state), New York. He attended the High School of Music & Art, located in west Harlem, Manhattan, near the Apollo Theater. He often attended the Apollo, seeing many of the famous soul, rhythm & blues, and gospel artists who influenced him. He moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to attend the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts on scholarship, where he studied painting. His first roommate was film director David Lynch. Antonio Lopez (February 11, 1943 – March 17, 1987) was a fashion illustrator whose work appeared in such publications as ''Vogue'', ''Harper's Bazaar'', ''Elle'', ''Interview'' and ''The New York Times''. The Hit Factory
The Hit Factory is a recording studio in New York City owned and operated by Troy Germano. History On March 6, 1975, Edward Germano, a singer, record producer, and one of the principal owners of the Record Plant Studios New York, purchased the Hit Factory from Jerry Ragavoy. At that time the Hit Factory studios were located at 353 West 48th Street and consisted of two studios, A2 and A6. Eventually, a third studio, A5, was added. These studios were active from 1975 to 1981. Germano incorporated the Hit Factory into a business, redesigned its studios, and created the logo it uses to this day.
