The Labour Office of the Apostolic See is responsible for labour relations of the Holy See and Vatican City State with its employees. The office also settles labour issues which arise. Pope John Paul II
Pope John Paul II ( la, Ioannes Paulus II; it, Giovanni Paolo II; pl, Jan Paweł II; born Karol Józef Wojtyła ; 18 May 19202 April 2005) was the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State from 1978 until his death in April 2005, and was later canonised as Pope Saint John Paul II. Jan Pieter Schotte (29 April 1928 – 10 January 2005) was a Belgian cardinal and an official of the Roman Curia. Biography He was born on 29 April 1928 in the town of Beveren-Leie (now a part of Waregem) in the province of West Flanders. He entered the Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae, Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM Missionaries) in 1946. He was ordained a priest in 1952. From 1953 to 1956 he studied canon law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and from 1962 to 1963 at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Francesco Marchisano
Francesco Marchisano (25 June 1929 – 27 July 2014) was an Italian Cardinal (Catholicism), Cardinal who worked in the Roman Curia from 1956 until his death. Biography Born in Racconigi, he was Holy Orders, ordained a priest in Turin by Cardinal Maurilio Fossati in 1952. He studied in Rome where he was offered his first Curial appointment by Cardinal Giuseppe Pizzardo. Rising through the Vatican dicastery (then the Sacred Congregation for Seminaries and Universities, now the Congregation for Catholic Education), he served as its Undersecretary from 1969 to 1988. Giorgio Corbellini
Giorgio Corbellini (20 April 1947 – 13 November 2019) was an Italian Roman Catholic prelate, who was the president of the Labour Office of the Apostolic See since his appointment by Pope Benedict XVI on 3 July 2009 until his death. In this position he managed relations with lay workers in the Roman Curia. He previously served as Vice Secretary-General of the Governorate of the Vatican City State. He entered the seminary in 1958 in Piacenza, where he attended junior high and high school. From 1966 to 1972 he completed the course of philosophy and theology. He was ordained on 10 July 1971 and was incardinated in the diocese of Piacenza. After his ordination he was a pastor and taught religion in schools. Giuseppe Sciacca (born 23 February 1955) is the current Secretary of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura since his appointment by Pope Francis on July 16, 2016, replacing the retiring Archbishop Frans Daneels. Giovanni De Andrea (22 April 1928 – 19 January 2012) was an Italian Roman Catholic titular archbishop and diplomat. Education Ordained to the priesthood on June 29, 1951. From 1956 to 1958 he studied at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy, then he entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See.
