Eric Lee (labour Organizer)
Eric Lee (born 1955) is an American-born activist and author. He was born in New York City and is the founding editor of LabourStart, the news and campaigning website of the international trade union movement. He is also the author of The Labour Movement and the Internet: The New Internationalism (Pluto Press, 1996) and several other books. Career Lee worked as an editor for the social democratic magazine '' The New International Review''. While living in Israel, he worked as a computer programmer and was politically active in the peace movement and the left. Labour and Society International (LSI) was a non-governmental organization launched in the United Kingdom in the 1990s. Its founders were Arthur Lipow and David Clement. Kamal Abbas
Kamal Abbas ( arz, كمال عباس; born in 1955) is General Coordinator of the Center for Trade Unions and Workers Services (CTUWS), an activist group for independent unions in Egypt. Involved in activism for over 20 years, Abbas has been active in mobilizing worker support during the Egyptian Revolution of 2011 and its aftermath. His approach emphasizes peaceful strikes and rallies accompanied by demands for better wages and working conditions, as well as more regular elections for union officials, and an independent union system. He began his work by organizing a strike at a steel plant in Helwan, Egypt in 1989, for which he was arrested, tortured, and fired.
