Labor Dispute Disruptions Of Sports On Television
The following is a list of labor-management disputes that caused disruptions in television coverage in sports events. This doesn't include work stoppages of the sports themselves (such as the Major League Baseball in 1981 and 1994, the National Basketball Association in 1998-99 and 2011, the National Football League in 1982 and 1987, or the National Hockey League in 1994-95, 2004-05, and 2012-13) but coverage disruptions which caused interruption/cancellation of the telecast itself or substitute on-air talent. Major League Baseball
Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world. MLB is composed of 30 total teams, divided equally between the National League (NL) and the American League (AL), with 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada. The NL and AL were formed in 1876 and 1901, respectively.
