La Tanière Du Dragon
La Tanière du Dragon ("The Lair of the Dragon") is a walk-through attraction located beneath Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris, and is unique to that park. It opened with Euro Disneyland on April 12, 1992. Summary The attraction features an audio-animatronic dragon, which at 27 metres (89 ft) from head to tail, was the largest Animatronic figure ever built when the park opened in April 1992. The walkthrough consists of a dimly lit cavern with a large dragon sleeping silently. Occasionally it will 'wake up', puffing smoke and growling. Fantasyland
Fantasyland is one of the "themed lands" at all of the Magic Kingdom-style parks run by The Walt Disney Company around the world. It is themed after Disney's animated fairy tale films. Le Château De La Belle Au Bois Dormant
(French for "The Castle of the Beauty Sleeping in the Wood", but known more roughly in English as "Sleeping Beauty Castle") is the fairy tale castle at the centre of Disneyland Park and a continuation of Sleeping Beauty Castle first seen at Disneyland in California. Audio-Animatronics (also known as simply Animatronics, and sometimes shortened to AAs) is the registered trademark for a form of robotics animation created by Walt Disney Imagineering for shows and attractions at Disney theme parks, and subsequently expanded on and used by other companies. The robots move and make noise (generally a recorded speech or song), but are usually fixed to whatever supports them. They can sit and stand but usually cannot walk. An Audio-Animatronic is different from an android-type robot in that it uses prerecorded movements and sounds, rather than responding to external stimuli. A dragon is a reptilian legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide. Terri Hardin
Terri Hardin Jackson (born June 21, 1957) is an American puppeteer, artist, and former Disney imagineer. Her first Hollywood job came during her college years in which she built the stillsuits for the film version of ''Dune'' and acted as a stunt double for Sean Young. A job on the Columbia Pictures blockbuster ''Ghostbusters'' followed in which she played both of the demon dogs at the "Temple of Zuul" and served as a puppeteer for both the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man and the ghost librarian seen at the opening of the film. Hardin was hired by Disney Studios in 1987 during her stint with Universal Studios Hollywood as a sculptor creating "walk-around" character costumes. She helped design the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and La Tanière du Dragon (The Dragon's Lair) attractions at Disneyland Paris.
