La Liga (Television)
The Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera División, commonly known as the Primera División or LaLiga and officially as LaLiga EA Sports since 2023 for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's professional football division of the Spanish football league system. It is controlled by the LFP and is contested by 20 teams over a 38-matchday period. Since its inception, 62 teams have competed in La Liga. Nine teams have been crowned champions, with Barcelona winning the inaugural La Liga and Real Madrid winning the title a record 36 times. The Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (), also known as LaLiga (the abbreviation LFP was also used until the 2015-16 season), is a sports association responsible for administering the two professional Association football, football leagues in Spain, the La Liga, Primera División (aka "La Liga") and Segunda División. Founded in 1984, the organisation has independent legal status from the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and it is autonomous in its operations. EA Sports is a division of Electronic Arts that develops and publishes sports video games. The Ballon d'Or (; ) is an annual football award presented by French news magazine ''France Football'' since 1956. The FIFA Club World Cup is an international men's association football competition organised by the ''Fédération Internationale de Football Association'' ( FIFA), the sport's global governing body. In European football, the UEFA coefficients are statistics based in weighted arithmetic means used for ranking and seeding teams in club and international competitions. Introduced in 1979 for men's football tournaments, and after applied in women's football and futsal, the coefficients are calculated by UEFA, who administer football within Europe, as well as Armenia, Israel and the Asian parts of some transcontinental countries.
