La Dinastía de Tuzantla, Michoacán, or simply La Dinastía de Tuzantla, is a regional Mexican band from Tuzantla, Michoacán, Mexico, that was founded in 1987. It specializes in the Tierra Caliente genre, and was created by the Toledo family, who are also members of the group. Their 2005 live production, ''En Vivo'', landed the number seven spot on Billboard's Regional Mexican charts; it eventually peaked at number seven on the Hot Latin Albums chart. The Tuzantla-raised group alongside Beto y sus Canarios are two of the leading acts of the genre. Tuzantla is a municipality in the eastern part of the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality has an area of 1,018.49 square kilometres (1.73% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north by the municipalities of Jungapeo and Hidalgo, to the east by Juárez and Susupuato, to the south by Tiquicheo and the state of Guerrero, and to the west by Tiquicheo and Tzitzio. Banda is a genre of Regional Mexican music and type of ensemble in which wind (mostly brass) and percussion instruments are performed. Tierra Caliente music (''música de Tierra Caliente'' in Spanish) is a genre of Regional Mexican music. History Tierra Caliente music originated in the late 1980s in Mexico's Tierra Caliente region of Michoacán. The genre was influenced by the Technobanda sound, essentially using the same instruments such as vocals, electric keyboards, electric bass, trumpets, trombones, saxophones and drums. Some bands also utilize accordions. Tierra Caliente emphasizes the electric keyboard, giving the genre its own signature keyboard riff. Beto y sus Canarios are a regional Mexican band formed in Huetamo, Michoacán, Mexico. It was founded in 1987 by Gabino García and Edilberto Portillo. After releasing several albums, in 2001 the group released their album Tuve una novia, featuring the single Noche eterna, which became a number-one hit in the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.
