La Castañeda is a Mexican rock group originally from México City, formed in 1989 by Salvador Moreno, Edmundo Ortega, Alberto Rosas, Omar D'León Omar D'León (1929 – August 26, 2022) was a Nicaraguan painter and poet. D'León was born Omar D'León Lacayo y Estrada in 1929 in Managua, Nicaragua. Mexican Rock
Mexican rock music, often referred to in Mexico as ''rock nacional'' ("national rock"), originated in the 1950s. Standards by The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Everly Brothers, Nancy Sinatra, and Chuck Berry were soon covered by bands such as Los Apson, Los Teen Tops, Los Twisters, Los Hitters, Los Nómadas, Los Rockets, , Los Locos del Ritmo, , and Javier Bátiz, which later led to original compositions, often in English. The group "Los Nómadas" was the first racially integrated band of the 1950s. Their lead guitarist, Bill Aken (adopted son of Lupe Mayorga, effectively making Aken the cousin of Ritchie Valens), wrote most of their original material, including the raucous ''Donde-Donde'', and co-wrote the material for their ''Sounds Of The Barrio'' album, which is still being sold. Omar D'León
Omar D'León (1929 – August 26, 2022) was a Nicaraguan painter and poet. D'León was born Omar D'León Lacayo y Estrada in 1929 in Managua, Nicaragua. D'León studied nine years at the '' Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes'' in Nicaragua under its director . His early inspiration were the frescos of Pompeii, where he saw the use of cross-hatching and applied this technique to his love of the Impressionist school. He founded a museum in Managua in 1970 named "Museo-Galeria 904". The museum's collection encompassed the arts of Nicaragua from pre-Hispanic to contemporary. In the earthquake of December. 1972, D'León's museum and studio were partly destroyed and later ransacked, vandalized and robbed. After the Sandinistas took power in Nicaragua, he moved to Camarillo, California . In 1982, one of his paintings was reproduced in the form of a UNICEF stamp.
