LaVaughn Robinson (born LaVaughn Evett) (February 9, 1927 – January 22, 2008) was an American tap dancer, choreographer, and teacher. A virtuoso tap dancer, Robinson perfected a high speed, low to the ground, a cappella style of dance that was characterized by elegance, precision, and clarity of sound. In a career spanning over 70 years, he started performing on the street, then in nightclubs, and finally in national and international tap festivals. Maud Worcester Makemson (September 16, 1891—December 25, 1977) was an American astronomer, a specialist on archaeoastronomy, and director of Vassar Observatory. Early life and education Maud Lavon Worcester was born in 1891 in Center Harbor, New Hampshire. She attended Girls' Latin School in Boston. She briefly attended Radcliffe College, but left to teach school. In 1911, her family moved to Pasadena, California. She was working as a journalist in Bisbee, Arizona when she took an interest in astronomy. She returned to California and taught school while taking correspondence courses and summer classes to qualify for admission to the University of California. Mélange Lavonne is an American rapper. Early life Lavonne was born and raised in Rialto, California and attended high school at Eisenhower H.S. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease at age 11, but recovered to play basketball in high school, and her experience with cancer, going through chemotherapy and radiation while her parents were going through a divorce and her grandmother who living with them dying of breast cancer changed her.
