La'Tangela Atkinson
La'Tangela Chiquita Atkinson (born March 22, 1984) is an American professional women's basketball player in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). High school Atkinson played for Lee Central High School in Bishopville, South Carolina, where she was named a WBCA All-American. She participated in the 2002 WBCA High School All-America Game where she scored eight points. College Atkinson attended college at the University of North Carolina and graduated in 2006. The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October.
