The Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy is one of the leading educational institutions in the military education system of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, founded originally in 1899 as a school of infantry cadets. It is engaged in the training of future officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. History Austria-Hungary On October 1, 1899, on the territory of the present Academy, the opening of the Imperial and Royal School of Cadets in Lviv (K. und k. Infanterie Kadettenschule in Lemberg) was held. This facility was the only one in Galicia and the sixteenth military academy in Austria-Hungary. Graduates of the institution received the title "Kadet - Deputy Officer". In 1914 the school was evacuated to Austria. Among the outstanding graduates were Colonel Hnat Stefaniv, Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Bizantz, and Ataman Boguslav Shashkevich, who played an important role during the Ukrainian War of Independence. Zoltan Miles
Zoltan Zoltanovich Miles (russian: Золтан Золтанович Милес; 1944 — 1997) was a Soviet footballer of Hungarian origin who played as a goalkeeper. He had 64 top-flight appearances with FC Lokomotiv Moscow captaining the team for years, having gained fame as a penalty killer during his spell in Moscow and also kept 89 clean sheets, a club record later beaten by Sergei Ovchinnikov. The Ukrainian Amateur Cup ( uk, Кубок України з футболу серед аматорських команд) or AAFU Cup ( uk, Кубок ААФУ) is a national cup competition in Ukraine for amateur clubs. The nationwide competition among amateur teams in cup format (Olympic system) was revived in the 1996–97 season and since 2008 the winner receives the right to progress to the Ukrainian Cup which serves professional clubs. Format The Cup is intended to be organised between the Cup holders of the regional tournaments, but in reality it is an optional invitational tournament among teams that are delegated by selected regions (oblasts of Ukraine and autonomous republic of Crimea).
