LULAC
The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the largest and oldest Hispanic and Latin-American civil rights organization in the United States. It was established on February 17, 1929, in Corpus Christi, Texas, largely by Hispanics returning from World War I who sought to end ethnic discrimination against Latinos in the United States. The goal of LULAC is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health, and civil rights of Hispanic people in the United States. LULAC uses nationwide councils and group community organizations to achieve all these goals. LULAC has about 132,000 members in the United States. Organization LULAC helps to promote education among Latin Americans in America. LULAC councils provide about one million dollars in scholarships to Hispanics every year. Domingo García (politician)
Domingo García is an American lawyer and politician. He serves as the 51st President of League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). He previously served as a member of the Dallas City Council, Mayor Pro Tem of Dallas, and a member of the Texas House of Representatives. He was elected the president of LULAC in 2018. Early life and career García earned Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas in 1980 and his Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston in 1983. He then worked as a personal injury lawyer. Political career García was first elected to the Dallas City Council in 1991 and served until 1995. He was elected Mayor Pro Tem of Dallas in 1993 and became the first Latino to hold that post. He served in the Texas House of Representatives for three terms. 1430 K Street is a high-rise building located in the United States capital of Washington, D.C. The building was constructed in 2005 and its construction was completed in 2006. On its completion, the building rose to , featuring 12 floors. The building serves as an office and parking garage. This was the first office building in the Washington downtown to be fully sold as a condominium.
