LTS Garðbær Studios
LTS Garðbær Studios (also known as LazyTown Entertainment) is a studio located in Garðabær, Iceland, which succeeded Lazy Shows (founded in 1992). The studio's productions included television series '' LazyTown''. The studio was founded in 2002 by Magnús Scheving and his partners Guðmundur Þór Kárason, Raymond P. Le Gué and Ragnheiður Melsteð. In 2011, Turner Broadcasting System acquired LTS and in 2014 Turner moved the studio to the UK. As of 2019, the rights to the LazyTown brand are owned by Warner Bros. through its Warner Bros. International Television Nordics unit. LTS owns Wit Puppets and the creative studio from Le Gué Enterprises BV. As of 2022, the rights to the LazyTown brand are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Magnús Scheving
Magnús Örn Scheving (; born 10 November 1964) is an Icelandic writer, entrepreneur, television producer, actor and athlete. He is the creator, director, and star of the children's television show '' LazyTown'', in which he also portrayed the character Sportacus. Childhood and early life Magnús Scheving was born on 10 November 1964 to Þórveig Hjartardóttir and Eyjólfur Magnússon Scheving. His paternal grandfather was Danish. He grew up in the small town of Borgarnes in Iceland. At 15 years old, he had his first job as a telephone exchange messenger boy for Borgarnes. He was trained as a sport teacher in his youth, and later decided to retrain in architecture. Though intending to be an architect, he went into carpentry instead. Guðmundur Þór Kárason
Guðmundur Þór Kárason (born 14 June 1974) is an Icelandic puppet designer and puppeteer who is best known for his work on '' LazyTown''. Born in Reykjavík, Iceland, Guðmundur is the son of director Kári H. Þórsson and visual artist Jenný E. Guðmundsdóttir. In 1994, he founded Wit Puppets in Iceland, working on commercials, theater and television programs. Guðmundur's involvement in Wit Puppets ranges from character development, construction and performing some of the puppets himself. In 1998, Guðmundur joined Lazy Shows, performing and consulting on the show as well as designing visuals for the company. Starting in 2004, Guðmundur was one of the founders of LTS Garðbær Studios (also known as LazyTown Entertainment), puppet performer and voice of Ziggy in ''LazyTown''. Garðabær () is a municipality in the Capital Region of Iceland. History Garðabær is a growing town in the Capital Region. It is the sixth largest town in Iceland with a population of 13,872 (Sept 1, 2013). The site of Garðabær has been inhabited since Iceland was first settled in the 9th century. Landnámabók, the Book of Settlement, tells of two farms on the site of Garðabær: Vífilsstaðir and Skúlastaðir. The former was named after Vífill, who was a slave of Ingólfur Arnarson, the first settler of Iceland. Ingólfur gave Vífill his freedom and he made his home at Vífilsstaðir. ''LazyTown Extra'' (also known in other countries as ''LazyTown: Action Time!'') is a British children's television series produced by LazyTown Entertainment, based on the original programme '' LazyTown''. It first aired on 15 September 2008, showing on the BBC's CBeebies, along with the original series. In the programme, Ziggy travels to various parts of the United Kingdom. The programme differed from the original ''LazyTown'' series in that it mainly revolved around Ziggy and was approximately ten minutes shorter in length.
