LCMC Health System (formerly known as Louisiana Children's Medical Center) is a nonprofit network of healthcare providers in Southern Louisiana, based out of New Orleans. Members include academic centers, acute care facilities, and research hospitals. LCMC Health's mission is to provide health, care, and education beyond extraordinary. LCMC Health, along with Ochsner, dominate the Louisiana health and hospital space. Along with their 6 hospitals and physicians offices, LCMC Health operates a network of urgent care centers across the greater New Orleans area. The hospital has 229 pediatric beds and is affiliated the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. East Jefferson General Hospital is a hospital in Metairie, Louisiana (U.S.). The hospital broke ground in 1965 and is still expanding. The facility serves the people of the East Bank of Jefferson Parish. History In 1965, the Jefferson Parish council passed an ordinance for the construction of a hospital service to be built on the East Bank of the Jefferson Parish. East Jefferson General Hospital inaugurated on February 14, 1971. It originally included 250 beds and 250 physicians. The West Jefferson Medical Center (West Jefferson) is a 419-bed community hospital located in Marrero, Louisiana, United States.
