LANY
LANY (, an acronym for "Los Angeles New York") are an American pop rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in Nashville in 2014, the band consists of Paul Jason Klein and Jake Clifford Goss. Signed to Polydor and Interscope Records, the band have released three top 40 albums: ''LANY'' (2017), ''Malibu Nights'' (2018), and ''Mama's Boy'' (2020). Additionally, they have released a slew of singles, their most successful being the RIAA-certified "ILYSB" (2015), the Julia Michaels collaboration "Okay" (2019), and "Mean It" (2019) with Lauv. In 2020, they released their third studio album, ''Mama's Boy'', which was followed by their fourth album, ''gg bb xx'', in September 2021. ''Gg bb xx'' (stylized in all lowercase) is the fourth studio album by American pop (music), pop band LANY. Released on September 11, 2021 through Side Street Entertainment and Polydor Records, it serves as a follow-up to their third studio album, ''Mama's Boy (album), Mama's Boy'' (2020). It is the band's final album to feature keyboardist and guitarist Leslie Priest, who left the band the following year. ''Malibu Nights'' is the second studio album by American indie pop band LANY. It was released on October 5, 2018, by Side Street Entertainment and Polydor Records. The album was produced by Mike Crossey. The album was promoted by four singles with one promotional single, including the ballad lead single "Thru These Tears". Writing and recording ''Malibu Nights'' was written and recorded in early 2018 following the end of a romantic relationship frontman Paul Jason Klein was having with English singer Dua Lipa.
