Lameness (equine)
Lameness is an abnormal gait or stance of an animal that is the result of dysfunction of the locomotor system. In the horse, it is most commonly caused by pain, but can be due to neurologic or mechanical dysfunction. Lameness is a common veterinary problem in racehorses, sport horses, and pleasure horses. It is one of the most costly health problems for the equine industry, both monetarily for the cost of diagnosis and treatment, and for the cost of time off resulting in loss-of-use. Causes of lameness Lameness is most commonly caused by pain, but may also be the result of neuromuscular disease or mechanical restriction. Lameness itself is a clinical sign, and not a diagnosis. Lame (armor)
A lame is a solid piece of sheet metal used as a component of a larger section of plate armor used in Europe during the medieval period. It is used in armors to provide articulations or the joining of the armor elements. The size is usually small with a narrow and rectangular shape. Multiple lames are riveted together or connected by leather straps or cloth lacing to form an articulated piece of armor that provides flexible protection. The armor worn by the samurai class of feudal Japan used ''lames'' in the construction of many of their individual armor parts. Lamer
Lamer is a jargon or slang name originally applied in cracker and phreaker culture to someone who did not really understand what they were doing. Today it is also loosely applied by IRC, BBS, demosceners, and online gaming users to anyone perceived to be contemptible. In general, the term has come to describe someone who is willfully ignorant of how things work. It is derived from the word "lame". A lamer is sometimes understood to be the antithesis of a hacker. While a hacker strives to understand the mechanisms behind what they use, even when such extended knowledge would have no practical value, a lamer only cares to learn the bare minimum necessary to operate the device in the way originally intended. A lame () is a double-sided blade that is used to slash the tops of bread loaves in baking. A lame is used to ''score'' (also called ''slashing'' or ''docking'') bread just before the bread is placed in the oven. Often the blade's cutting edge will be slightly concave-shaped, which allows users to cut flaps (called ''shag'') considerably thinner than would be possible with a traditional straight razor. Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu Lame (10 February 1953 – 25 May 2019) was a Nigerian educator and politician, who was elected as senator in 1992 during the Third Republic, appointed Senior Special Assistant to President Olusegun Obasanjo in August 1999, and appointed Minister of Police Affairs by President Umaru Yar'Adua in December 2008. ''Oz Factor'' is the second album by the San Diego-based punk rock band Unwritten Law, released in 1996 by Epic Records. The songs "Superman" and "Denied" became minor hits on local rock radio stations. Unwritten Law supported the album by touring with Bad Religion. It was the band's last album with bassist John Bell, who left the band following the supporting tours. Production The album was produced by Greg Graffin, of Bad Religion. A limp is a type of asymmetric abnormality of the gait. Limping may be caused by pain, weakness, neuromuscular imbalance, or a skeletal deformity.
