László Detre (astronomer)
László Detre (19 April 1906, Szombathely – 15 October 1974, Budapest) was a Hungarian astronomer well known for his work on variable stars. Szombathely (; german: Steinamanger, ; see also other alternative names) is the 10th largest city in Hungary. It is the administrative centre of Vas county in the west of the country, located near the border with Austria. Variable Star
A variable star is a star whose brightness as seen from Earth (its apparent magnitude) changes with time. Konkoly Observatory ( hu, Konkoly Thege Miklós Csillagászati Intézet; obs. code: 053) is an astronomical observatory located in Budapest, Hungary is part of the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences ( hu, Csillagászati és Földtudományi Kutatóközpont) and belongs to the Eötvös Loránd Kutatási Hálózat. It was founded in 1871 by Hungarian astronomer Miklós Konkoly-Thege (1842–1916) as a private observatory, and was donated to the state in 1899. Diána Klaudia Detre (born 22 November 1983 in Budapest) is a Hungarian windsurfer, who specialized in Neil Pryde RS:X class. A two-time Olympian (2008 and 2012), she has been currently training for Balatonfuredi Yacht Club in Balatonfüred under her coach Christophe Boutet. Detre also came from a traditional pedigree of top-class sailors, as her father Szabolcs Detre, along with his twin brother and daughter's uncle Zsolt Detre, captured a bronze medal in the Flying Dutchman at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. As of September 2013, Detre is ranked no. 79 in the world for the sailboard class by the International Sailing Federation.
