Lynnville–Sully Community School District
The Lynnville–Sully Community School District is a rural public school district and serves the towns of Lynnville, Sully and Searsboro and surrounding areas in southeastern Jasper and western Poweshiek counties, with a small portion of Mahaska County. The school, which serves all grade levels pre K–12 in one building, is located at 12476 Highway F62 E, in Sully. The school's mascot is the Hawk. Their colors are Columbia blue and gold. History The independent school district of Lynnville was formed in March 1870. In 1910, the Lynn Grove township had 22 teachers and an enrollment of 207. Sully had two teachers and an enrollment of 98 pupils. South Iowa Cedar League
The South Iowa Cedar League is a high school athletic conference in south central and southeastern Iowa. The conference is made up of mostly 1A schools, as well as a few 2A schools (the two smallest classes in the state). A 9-team league from the 1960s, the conference expanded to 12 teams in 1996, then dropped to 11 members when Williamsburg joined the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye Conference in 2000. In the fall of 2014, the schools of the SICL voted to allow Colfax–Mingo to join the SICL, making it a 12-team league again.
