Lyndhurst Shire
Lyndhurst Shire was a local government area in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. Lyndhurst Shire was proclaimed on 7 March 1906, one of 134 shires created after the passing of the ''Local Government (Shires) Act 1905''. The shire absorbed the Municipality of Blayney and the Municipality of Carcoar on 12 November 1935. The shire offices were based in Blayney. Urban areas in the shire included Blayney, Carcoar, South Carcoar, Mandurama and Millthorpe and the villages of Barry, Lyndhurst, Neville and Newbridge. Molong Shire
Molong is a small town in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia, in Cabonne Shire. History The name Molong comes from the Aboriginal word for 'all rocks'. William Lee of Kelso is said to have had cattle in the area by 1819. He later held property just north of present Molong, around Larras Lee. In 1826, a military and police outpost was established at Molong, on Governor Darling's orders, as a step in opening up the government stock reserve west of the Macquarie River for settlement. For its first twenty years the settlement was at a site approximately east of the current location. The present village of Molong was officially gazetted in March 1849. In 1845, Copper was discovered at Copper Hill, just north of the town. Neville, New South Wales
Neville is a small village in the south-east of New South Wales, Australia, in Blayney Shire. It is 60 km south west of Bathurst or about 16 km south-east of Mandurama. It is 940 metres above sea level and has a population of about 100. History European settlement of the area began soon after the establishment of Bathurst in 1815, but the exact time is still unclear. The village was known by different names before it was finally called Neville in 1888. Other names previous to Neville include "No-one swamp" or "Number one Swamp" (the creek that it is on) and ''Macquarie'' in reference to Lachlan Macquarie, an early governor of New South Wales, and then "Mount Macquarie" which the nearby Mount Macquarie is still called. Blayney, New South Wales
Blayney is a farming town and administrative centre with a population of 3,378 in 2016, in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. Situated on the Mid-Western Highway about west of Sydney, west of Bathurst and above sea-level, Blayney is the seat of Blayney Shire Council. History Prior to European settlement the area was occupied by the Aboriginal Wiradjuri and, or, Gundungara peoples. The first European to travel through area was surveyor George Evans, in 1815 and unofficial occupation of the district began in 1821. The first land grant in the general area known as Coombing Park was issued to Thomas Icely in 1829. In 1836 the locality was known as King's Plains, with Doyle's inn being the only public-house.
