Luqa St. Andrew's Football Club are a Malta, Maltese Association football, football club from the south-western town of Luqa in Malta. Founded in 1934, the club currently competing in the Maltese National Amateur League, becoming champions after winning both championship play-off matches. In seasons 2010–11 and 2016–2017 the team was promoted to the Second Division from the Maltese Third Division. The team is also known by the nickname "Reds". SVDP Ground
The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP or SVdP or SSVP) is an international voluntary organization in the Catholic Church, founded in 1833 for the sanctification of its members by personal service of the poor. The Maltese National Amateur League (referred to as the IZIBet Amateur League for sponsorship reasons) is the third-highest division in Maltese football, replacing the Maltese Second Division and Maltese Third Division during the 2020–21 season following the premature end of the previous football season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2021–22 Maltese Challenge League
The 2021–22 Maltese Challenge League (referred to as the BOV Challenge League for sponsorship reasons) is the second-level league football in Malta. It is the second season that the competition has been running in its present form. Following the decision of the Maltese Football Association Executive Committee, the teams that had finished in the promotion and relegation places in the previous Challenge League season would remain in the Challenge League in the 2021-22 season (with the exception of Qormi, due to less than 75% of the matches having been completed in the competition. Relegation from the Premier League and promotion from the National Amateur League remained in place due to these competitions being adequately completed. This season will therefore see twenty-two teams compete rather than the sixteen that had been originally expected. Maltese Third Division
The Maltese Third Division (also known as the BOV Third Division due to sponsorship reasons) was the lowest league level in Maltese football until 2020 when it was merged with the Maltese Second Division to create the National Amateur League. History The league was founded in 2000. Until 2011 the division comprised two sections - Section A with eleven teams and Section B with eleven teams. Both sections play two rounds with the winner in each group getting promoted to the Maltese Second Division. Relegation play-offs between the 2nd and 3rd placed teams of both groups and the 10th-place finisher of Second Division determined the third team to be in the Second Division.
