Lung
The lungs are the primary organs of the respiratory system in humans and most other animals, including some snails and a small number of fish. In mammals and most other vertebrates, two lungs are located near the backbone on either side of the heart. Their function in the respiratory system is to extract oxygen from the air and transfer it into the bloodstream, and to release carbon dioxide from the bloodstream into the atmosphere, in a process of gas exchange. Respiration is driven by different muscular systems in different species. Mammals, reptiles and birds use their different muscles to support and foster breathing. In earlier tetrapods, air was driven into the lungs by the pharyngeal muscles via buccal pumping, a mechanism still seen in amphibians. Lung Ying-tai
Lung Ying-tai (; born 13 February 1952 in Kaohsiung) is a Taiwanese essayist and cultural critic. She occasionally writes under the pen name 'Hu Meili' (). Lung's poignant and critical essays contributed to the democratization of Taiwan and as the only Taiwanese writer with a column in major mainland Chinese newspapers, she is a writer in Mainland China. Described as a "public intellectual of the Chinese-speaking world", she spent 20 years based outside Taiwan in the US and Germany where became widely known for her criticism of the Kuomintang's martial law regime. She has since become a critic of Mainland China's increasing restrictions on press freedom and civil liberties. She has written more than 30 books. The lungs () is one of the zang organs described in traditional Chinese medicine. It is a functionally-defined entity and not equivalent to the anatomical organ of the same name. Lung (river)
The Lung is a river in Ireland flowing through counties Mayo and Roscommon. It runs in a generally north-easterly direction mainly through Mayo but also forms the border between the two counties in three places until it reaches Lough Gara near the town of Ballaghaderreen in County Roscommon. The river and its lakes provides facilities for anglers to fish. Lung Chien (1916 – May 28, 1975), also known by the name Kim Lung, was a prolific Chinese film director and screenwriter active between the 1950s and the 1970s. Career Born in 1916, Lung Chien explores common themes in Hong Kong cinema such as mixed martial arts or violence in everyday life. He directed more than 30 films mostly in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
