Alessandra Lunardi
Alessandra Lunardi (born 1958) is an Italian mathematician specializing in mathematical analysis. She is a professor in the department of mathematics and computer science at the University of Parma. She is particularly interested in Kolmogorov equations and free boundary problems. Education and career Lunardi was educated at the University of Pisa, completing her undergraduate studies there in 1980 and earning a Ph.D. there in 1983. Her dissertation, ''Analyticity of the maximal solution to fully nonlinear equations in Banach spaces'', was supervised by Giuseppe Da Prato. After continuing on at Pisa as a researcher from 1984 to 1987, she was hired as a full professor at the University of Cagliari in 1987, and moved to Parma in 1994. Joseph Lunardi is an American college basketball analyst for ESPN. He was born in Philadelphia, attended Saint Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia, as well as Damien High School in CA, and is a Saint Joseph's University alumnus. Lunardi currently lives outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for creating Bracketology, which he calls the "art and science" of predicting the teams that will be selected in the annual NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. He is well known as the resident bracketologist for ESPN. Leda Maria Lunardi is a Brazilian-American electrical engineer whose research concerns electronics, photonics, and optoelectronics. She is a professor of electrical and computer engineering at North Carolina State University. Education and career Lunardi is from a large Brazilian family, part of the first generation of her family to go to college. She followed a pre-medical track in high school, but after developing an aversion to the internals of human bodies, changed her focus, switching to physics on the advice of a teacher. She studied physics at the University of São Paulo, earning a bachelor's degree in 1976 and a master's degree in 1979. She completed a Ph.D. in electrical engineering at Cornell University in 1985. Vincenzo Lunardi (11 January 1754 in Lucca – 1 August 1806 in Lisbon) was a pioneering Italian aeronaut, born in Lucca.
