Luiz Bazzoni
Luiz Bazzoni (3 September 1914 – 3 September 2002), was a Brazilian professional footballer who played as a forward. Career Born in Belo Horizonte, he began his playing career at Atlético Mineiro, a club for which he was state champion in 1936 and the Copa dos Campeões Estaduais in 1937. Bazzani moved to Santos and later to São Paulo, where he was also state champion in 1943. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them. Campeonato Mineiro is the state football league of the state of Minas Gerais and is controlled by the Minas Gerais Football Federation FMF (Federação Mineira de Futebol). The history of Campeonato Mineiro can be divided into two parts: before and after the construction of the Mineirão, in September 1966. The Mineirão is the biggest football stadium of Minas Gerais and it is located in Minas Gerais' state capital, Belo Horizonte. Before the stadium's inauguration América and Atlético were the most successful teams in the state, but after the construction of the Mineirão, known as the "Era Mineirão" ("Mineirão Era"), another team from the capital, Cruzeiro, also gained prominence. 1937 Copa Dos Campeões Estaduais
The 1937 Copa dos Campeões Estaduais was an official tournament organized by the now defunct Brazilian Football Federation (FBF), and aimed to point the Brazilian champion at that time. It was the second time a state champions cup happened in Brazil. The competition brought together the 1936 champions of the state leagues of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Campeonato Mineiro and Campeonato Capixaba, and was played in round-robin for points systems. The winning team was the Clube Atlético Mineiro.
