Luis De Arana
Luis Arana Urigüen (14 February 1874 – 7 June 1951) was a Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper who won the 1902 Copa de la Coronación with Club Bizcaya. He later became a sailor, representing his country at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Sporting career Footballing career Luis Arana Urigüen was born on 14 February 1874 in Santander, Cantabria. He was one of the first pioneers of football in Bilbao, being one of the young sportsmen from the city's high society who at the end of 1900, formed the Bilbao Football Club, with whom he played several friendly matches against city rivals Athletic Club (now known as Athletic Bilbao) in the Hippodrome of Lamiako. In 1902, the two rivals agreed to join the best players of each club to face the Bordeaux-based side Burdigala at Burdeos, France, which marked the first time a Bilbao team played on foreign territory. Santander () is the capital of the autonomous community and historical region of Cantabria situated on the north coast of Spain. It is a port city located east of Gijón and west of Bilbao with a population of 172,000 (2017). The 1902 Copa de la Coronación Final was the final of the 1902 Copa de la Coronación, Copa de la Coronación, the Spain, Spanish Association football, football cup competition. The match took place on 15 May 1902 at the Estadio del Hipódromo, Hipódromo in Madrid. William Llewellyn Dyer (11 September 1883 – 1936) was an English businessman and a professional footballer who played as a striker for Athletic Club. He was one of the first pioneers of football in the Basque Country, standing out as a great striker for some of the earliest Basque clubs in existence such as Bilbao FC, Club Bizcaya, and Athletic Club, winning three back-to-back Spanish Cups with the latter two between 1902 and 1904, and being the joint top scorer in the 1902 Copa de la Coronación with 5 goals.
