Vera Zozulya (russian: Вера Васильевна Зозуля, lv, Vera Zozuļa; born 15 January 1956 in Talsi, Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic, Latvian SSR) is a Soviet Union, Soviet luger who competed during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Competing in two Winter Olympics, she won the gold medal in the women's singles event at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. Maria-Luise Rainer (born 23 April 1959 in South Tyrol) is an Italian luger who competed between the late 1970s and the late 1980s. Competitive career Rainer won the bronze medal in the women's singles event at the 1979 FIL World Luge Championships in Königssee, West Germany.
