Lucius O'Brien (1675–1717) was an Irish nobleman of the O'Brien family of Dromoland. Early life He was the son of Donat O'Brien, 1st Baronet and Lucia Hamilton, the daughter of Sir George Hamilton. His father sent him to England for further education aged 18 where he was enrolled in Mr. Foubert’s Academy in London's Brewer Street, off Golden Square. Married Life After the consideration of other candidates, it was decided he would marry Catherine, the daughter of Thomas Keightley an English courtier and official in Ireland who had links to Queen Anne through his marriage to her aunt Frances, a daughter of Edward Hyde, 1st Earl of Clarendon. Sir Lucius O'Brien, 3rd Baronet
Sir Lucius Henry O'Brien, 3rd Baronet PC (Ire) (2 September 1731 – 15 January 1795) was an Irish baronet and politician for 34 years. He was a man of quite different parts to his father, an intellectual, a Greek and Latin scholar and a brilliant politician. He entered S.C. at Trinity College, Dublin, on 9th. July 1748, at the age of sixteen. He became a B.A. Vernon in 1752. Joined the Irish bar in 1758, and succeeded his father, as 3rd. Baronet of Dromoland, becoming a Privy councillor and M.P. Lucius O'Brien, 13th Baron Inchiquin
Lucius (McEdward) O'Brien, 13th Baron Inchiquin (5 December 1800 – 22 March 1872), known as Sir Lucius O'Brien, 5th Baronet from 1837 to 1855, was an Irish politician and nobleman. He is remembered respectfully in County Clare for his relief work in the famine years. Biography He was born at Dromoland Castle in 1800, the eldest son of Sir Edward O'Brien, 4th Baronet and Charlotte Smith. He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, graduating B.A. in 1825. In 1826, he replaced his father as Tory Member of Parliament for Clare, but was unseated in 1830 by the Whig candidates. He unsuccessfully contested the county again in 1835, but was appointed High Sheriff of Clare for that year instead. Upon the death of his father in 1837, he succeeded to the baronetcy, and he was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Clare in 1843. Lucius William O'Brien, 15th Baron Inchiquin (21 June 1864 – 9 December 1929) was the England-born holder of a hereditary peerage in the Peerage of Ireland, as well as Chief of the Name of O'Brien dynasty, O'Brien and Prince of Thomond in the Gaelic Irish nobility. Early life O'Brien was born in England the second of four children, and oldest son, to Edward O'Brien, 14th Baron Inchiquin and first wife Emily A'Court, at Belmore near Bishop's Waltham, Hampshire. Lucius Richard O'Brien (or L. R. O'Brien as he was known) (15 August 1832 – 13 December 1899) was an influential 19th-century Canadian oil and watercolour landscape artist. Life and career Lucius O'Brien was born in Shanty Bay, Upper Canada, a village his father founded on the shore of Lake Simcoe.Reid, 85.
