Lucian Romașcanu
Lucian N. Romașcanu (born 19 May 1967) is a Romanian politician serving as Minister of Culture from 2021 to 2023. A member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), he has been Senator for Buzău since 2016. He previously served as Culture Minister from 2017 to 2018. Romașcanu was elected for Buzău at the 2016 legislative election. Following Mihai Tudose's appointment as Prime Minister, Romașcanu was appointed Minister of Culture. From January 2017, he served as Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Media of the Senate. In August 2020, after it was shown that he had sworn at journalists before a press conference, Romașcanu was dismissed as spokesman of the PSD. Romașcanu served as Leader of the PSD in the Senate from 2020 to 2021. Under Nicolae Ciucă, Romașcanu was reinstated to his previous role of Minister of Culture. Buzău
The city of Buzău (formerly spelled ''Buzeu'' or ''Buzĕu''; ) is the county seat of Buzău County, Romania, in the historical region of Muntenia. It lies near the right bank of the Buzău River, between the south-eastern curvature of the Carpathian Mountains and the lowlands of Bărăgan Plain. 2016 Romanian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Romania on 11 December 2016. They were the first held under a new electoral system adopted in 2015, which saw a return to the proportional electoral system last used in the 2004 elections. The new electoral legislation provides a norm of representation for deputies of 73,000 inhabitants and 168,000 inhabitants for senators, which decreased the number of MPs. A total of 466 parliamentary seats (308 deputies, 18 minority deputies, and 134 senators) were contested, compared with the 588 parliamentarians elected in 2012. Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu National College
The Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu National College is an important high school in Buzău, Romania. It was named after the Romanian scholar and historian Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu. Founded in 1867, it is the oldest state-funded high-school in Buzău. Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu is a theoretical high school, with students ranging between grades 9 and 12, but it also has a small number of middle school classes.
