Loyola University Stadium
Loyola University Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium in New Orleans. It was home to the Loyola University Wolf Pack football team and track and field team. The stadium opened in 1928. The stadium was a double-decker stadium with a track surrounding the grass playing field. It was located on Freret Street at Calhoun Street between Bobet Hall and the gymnasium. It hosted the first collegiate night game in the southern United States. The stadium also hosted high school football games. Larry Mullins
Laurence A. "Moon" Mullins (June 13, 1908 – August 10, 1968) was an American college football player, coach and athletic director. He played fullback under Knute Rockne at the University of Notre Dame. He served as the head coach at St. Benedict's College from 1932 to 1936, Loyola University of New Orleans from 1937 to 1939, and St. Ambrose University in 1940 and 1947 to 1950. Mullins was the athletic director at Kansas State University and Marquette University. Early life Mullins was born in South Pasadena, California on June 13, 1908. He attended the University of Notre Dame, where he played on the football team under head coach Knute Rockne as a fullback from 1928 to 1930. The 1929 and 1930 teams won consecutive national championships, and those teams finished with perfect untied and undefeated records. The Loyola Wolf Pack are the athletic teams representing Loyola University New Orleans in intercollegiate athletics. The Wolf Pack are a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) since the 2010–11 academic year. They previously competed in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) from 1995–96 to 2009–10. Chicago Cardinals
The professional American football team now known as the Arizona Cardinals previously played in Chicago, Illinois, as the Chicago Cardinals from 1898 to 1959 before relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, for the 1960 through 1987 seasons. Robert Horace "Doc" Erskine (July 4, 1904 – February 1, 1978) was an American college football and basketball coach. He served at Loyola University New Orleans as the head football coach from 1933 to 1934 and as the head basketball coach from 1924 to 1925 and 1933 to 1939. Biography "Doc" was born on the Fourth of July in Waukegan, Illinois, to Caroline V. Griffith (1870–1952) & Robert James Erskine (1878–1925). He had an elder brother, David G. Erskine. Clark Shaughnessy
Clark Daniel Shaughnessy (originally O'Shaughnessy) (March 6, 1892 – May 15, 1970) was an American football coach and innovator. He is sometimes called the "father of the T formation" and the original founder of the forward pass, although that system had previously been used as early as the 1880s. Shaughnessy did, however, modernize the obsolescent T formation to make it once again relevant in the sport, particularly for the quarterback and the receiver positions. He employed his innovations most famously on offense, but on the defensive side of the ball as well, and he earned a reputation as a ceaseless experimenter.
