''I Love to Lie'' is the debut studio album by Atlanta duo Lowertown, released on October 21, 2022, by Dirty Hit. The album was recorded in London with Catherine Marks producing. Release The album was announced on August 25, 2022, along with the release of lead single "Bucktooth" and a music video directed by Zev Megasis. Second single "Antibiotics" was released September 15, third single No Way released October 6, and the fourth single "My Friends" was released simultaneous with the album. Dirty Hit
Dirty Hit is a British independent record label founded in December 2009 by Jamie Oborne, Brian Smith, and former England footballer, Ugo Ehiogu. It is currently based in West London, England. Their releases are distributed to digital platforms by Ingrooves Music Group. Since Dirty Hit's inception, Oborne has been the main driving force behind the label. Previously part of a signed band, he moved into artist management aiming to provide artist support. Providing a platform for two acts that Oborne managed, was the main motivation behind starting the label. Both The 1975 and Benjamin Francis Leftwich thus became the first signings. Catherine J Marks is a record producer, mixing engineer and audio engineer. She has worked with such artists as Foals, Manchester Orchestra, The Killers, Local Natives, Wolf Alice, Beware of Darkness, The Big Moon, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, The Amazons, Arno, Howling Bells, Sunset Sons and Eliza Shaddad. Early life Born in Melbourne, Australia. Catherine was classically trained in piano from the age of four and has a master's degree in Architecture. Career Marks met the Grammy Award winning record producer Flood, at a Nick Cave concert in Dublin in 2001. Lo-fi (also typeset as lofi or low-fi; short for low fidelity) is a music or production quality in which elements usually regarded as imperfections in the context of a recording or performance are present, sometimes as a deliberate choice.
